MPL & COVID-19
MPL has closed our doors, yet our services remain WIDE OPEN.
New content will be added continually on on the website under COVID-19 menu item at the top. Check out our FAQ - frequently asked questions - that we will update regularly. Our RESOURCES & NEWS features reports from local and state sources. Now there's STAYING HOME with a wide range of resources, from how to cook something from what's in your fridge and pantry to More to come soon.
The library has canceled all library programs through at least the end of April, and we will re-evaluate later events.
We cannot accept donations of materials at this time.
The MPL Friends Book Sale will be rescheduled for a later date. Don't worry - we have plenty of Cool Stuff that you want.
All due dates, except for HotSpots, have been changed to April 20. No overdue fines will be charged for the time that we are closed.
The dropbox is closed. Do not return items until the library reopens. This includes interlibrary-loan items.
Those with HotSpots checked out are being contacted for their return. Do not return HotSpots in the return slot.
Patrons may place holds, but no holds will be filled while MPL is closed. Items currently on hold but not picked up when the library closed will remain for the same patron when MPL reopens.
MPL cannot place interlibrary loans at this time. Librarians will accept purchase requests, though we cannot say when they would be available for checkout.
No concerns about catching germs (or losing items or getting fines) with
digital checkouts. You can sit on your comfortable couch to use Overdrive, Libby, Tumblebooks, Hoopla, and we've increased the number of monthly Hoopla checkouts to 8 each month through April 30. We're also adding new services as they become available.
