MPL & COVID-19
THE LATEST

WHAT'S NEW
MPL has re-opened with limited services and hours.

Hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday. Now you can browse to pick your own books and movies. The computer lab - now on the 2nd floor - offers 1-hour appointments. The copier and fax machines are available.
Indiana History is taking appointments to use microfilm and materials. It's also offering new services - Zoom meetings with a genealogist and genealogy programs. You can make requests by phone or computer, as always.
Limited occupancy: 25 people.
We ask you to wear masks (as we will), to keep at least 6 feet distance from others, and to stay home if you have symptoms or were exposed to someone who is sick.

We have reopened some places to read or study: Sign up at the reference desk. (Relax, we're not using your name - just keeping track of numbers.) However, the library still isn't a place to hang out. Sorry. The library has canceled in-person library programs, and we will re-evaluate as community cases ebb and flow.
New content will be added continually on on the website under COVID-19 menu item at the top. Check out our FAQ - frequently asked questions - that we will update regularly. Our RESOURCES & NEWS features reports from local and state sources. Now there's STAYING HOME with a wide range of resources, from how to cook something from what's in your fridge and pantry.

We cannot accept donations of materials at this time.

The MPL Friends Book Sale will be rescheduled for a later date. Don't worry - we have plenty of Cool Stuff that you want.

CHECKOUTS
You might see that items you've returned appear to still be checked out for 2 days after you've returned them. These items are automatically in quarantine for 2 days. You will not be fined for that time, and you may check out as if you've returned these items.

Our thorough cleaning process uses both time and heat to thoroughly disinfect materials, and the building has been thoroughly cleaned. Staff is following a strict cleaning schedule throughout the day.
You can use the dropbox or come inside to return materials. Please pay attention to directions.

Curbside has been a huge hit. You may place items on hold, then a librarian will contact you for a time for pickup. You can use our new scheduling service - see bottom right pop-up. (Also what you can use to schedule time on a computer or in Indiana History.) You may also call in a request, though those orders are limited to 5 items. Phone: 765-668-2900, choose the circulation department

MPL has re-started interlibrary loans. Please be patient - the system is slower because of quarantines, and some libraries have limited services.
No concerns about catching germs (or losing items or getting fines) with
digital checkouts. You can sit on your comfortable couch to use Overdrive, Libby, Tumblebooks, Hoopla. We're also adding new services as they become available.
