Are you interested in doing more with The History Center?

Whether you're a community member looking to volunteer or a student searching for an internship, we would love to invite you to join our work!

The History Center is currently in need of volunteer assistance in these areas: â€‹

Exhibit Research (in-person or remote): Help us with research as we develop our next exhibit, the Twentieth Century Black Experience Exhibit. Research opportunities are available on a variety of topics. 

Object Inventory Assistance: Assisting with the museum's object inventory. Basic computer skills required.

Digitization Assistance: Help us digitize donated documents and photographs. Basic computer skills required.

Docent Services: Welcome guests and explain museum exhibits. No prior knowledge of museum is required.

Individual Tours

The History Center Museum is happy to offer tours for individuals and groups of up to 4 people on a request basis during our operating hours.

 

To request a tour, please email hc@marion.lib.in.us with your name, the number of guests in your party, and a preferred date and time for your tour. Our staff will get back to you as soon as possible.

Group Tours

The History Center Museum is happy to offer scheduled tours for local groups, including classes, youth groups, clubs, organizations, and more. If you are scheduling a tour for a group of more than 4 people, please fill out our Group Tour Request Form.

Transportation

Free parking in the lot behind the library & on the streets surrounding the library.  Washington, 7th, Boots, and 6th streets are one-way, as is the MPL drive off of 6th Street.)

a limited number of locks available

for checkout from the Circulation Desk.
